One way my cat makes me absolutely happy is when she comes to say good night. Every night, like a clock, my cat waits for me at the foot of my bed, and the moment I get under the blanket - she walks on me, turns around a few times, and then settles on my chest, facing me, closing her eyes, and purring like a tiny tractor. I pet her, and she enjoys the situation for a good several minutes until she decides to get up and do her own nightly routine. It's the cutest good night ceremony she's been doing for years now, and I love it.

Another way my cat makes me so happy is when I return home. Usually it's after a day at work, but it happens every time she hears me going up the stairs before I open the door - she accepts me at the door, tail perked up in excitement, rubbing her back on my legs. It's her way of saying “Mom! You're home! That's great!” And I'm glad to be back home with her.

Another way in which my cat brings me joy is by the way she asks me for play time. She meows gently, walking in the direction of the toy she wants to play with, and stops every few steps to look back and make sure I'm coming with her. And then, playing with her is a whole activity of joy in and of itself. When my cat is playing, she's going crazy in the best way possible, and it's just the funniest. I love our conjoint cat-human play time.
